Motor controller render
350W Hybrid Square/Sinusoidal Motor Controller for small PEVs I designed the motor controller for my foldable electric skateboard project, built around a hybrid square-wave/sinusoidal drive to get efficient, torquey performance out of 700W combined power (with two boards). The three-phase stage is driven by a dsPIC33CK32MP105 motor-control DSC with hall-effect sensor feedback, since back-EMF sensing gets unreliable right at the low RPMs where the square-wave mode needs to take over.
BMS board layout
42V Battery Management System for 10S PEV batteries at a competitive price point I designed a 42V lithium-ion battery management system from scratch for a large custom battery pack, engineering protection circuitry to keep it from going into thermal runaway. I took an MIT power electronics course partway through so I could properly handle the high-current, high-power-density circuitry, and after a few revisions I landed on a design that works, is cheap to manufacture, and has a small footprint.
STARLIGHT flight computer board
STARLIGHT - Flagship Model Rocketry Flight Computer, $49 I designed STARLIGHT from scratch at 16 - it's Circuit Wizardry's original flight computer and the board that started the business. I did the schematic capture and PCB layout myself in Fusion 360, built and open-sourced MissionControl as the companion ground-station app, and developed a QA process to ship boards reliably.
